Akeem Browder Runs For Mayor
Akeem Browder, the older sibling to the late Kalief Browder, says he’s ready to take on NYC as Mayor. The 34-year-old says his experiences as a Bronx native, and activist for change will guide him through a successful mayoral term, according to NY Daily News.
Akeem says:
“You can’t be far removed from the problem. What does running as a mayor include, talking fancy? What it actually involves is knowing the people, and I’ve done that…I’ve marched in the streets with the people in every borough.”
He also criticized the city’s Mayor De Blasio for “faking out” people with his announcement to shut down Riker’s Island, calling it lip service.
“We have a problem with the way New York is being run – especially by de Blasio.”
The corruption of Riker’s and NYC’s “due process” was exposed by Akeem’s own brother Kalief, who suffered abuse and henious conditions why he was being contained. Kalief eventually committed suicide from his mental suffering.
